We are the original glacier skydivers. Since 1997 we have taken over 30,000 very happy customers on the ride of a lifetime. In 2016 we have been voted the most scenic skydive in the world by Thetravelchannel.com, Escapehere.com and Travelnation.co.uk and The Lonely Planet says that only Mt Everest could possibly beat Fox Glacier for a scenic skydiving experience.
Just In…..Rankers.co.nz has voted SKYDIVE FOX GLACIER the best skydive in New Zealand. A BIG thanks to all those who voted.
Our leisurely flight to altitude takes us around the Westland National Park, over subtropical rainforests, rivers, lakes, the Tasman sea, New Zealand’s highest mountains – Mt Tasman and Aoraki/Mt Cook – and of course the largest glaciers and snow fields in the Southern Alps. No other Skydive Company in New Zealand can offer these views, winter or summer.
We take care of everything, so all you have to do, is concentrate on the magnificent scenery and the ultimate freefall experience you will never forget.
The business is owned and operated by people who have been involved in the skydiving and aviation industry for more than 25 years. Our Parachute systems are top of the line and impeccably maintained by a Manufacturer Certified Master Parachute Technician. We are a company dedicated to providing an unparalleled skydiving experience with exceptional personal service.
All our tandem instructors are internationally qualified with thousands of skydives under their belt and are associate members of the New Zealand Parachute Industry Association – NZPIA.

We are the original Glacier Skydivers. We have been jumping here since 1997. We had the choice of the two glaciers for our base. Both Fox Glacier and Franz Josef are unbelievable sights, but we chose Fox Glacier because it is the largest and highest of the West Coast Glaciers, its has the largest snowfields and is closest to Aoraki/Mt Cook and our other highest peaks. Franz Josef is a great town and has a wide selection of accommodation, so for people that stay there we provide complimentary transfers to our base.
From October to May we plan jumps at 9:00am & 11:00am in the morning & 3:00pm in the afternoon and from June to September at 8:30am, 11:30am and 2:30pm, but we may be able to accommodate other timings. If you have any questions just call us on 0800 751 0080, or drop us an email on email@example.com. Allow about 2 to 3 hours for the whole experience.
Skydiving is very weather dependant. We would not be operating in strong winds or rainy conditions. However, always ring us – Freephone 0800 751 0080 – to confirm if you are worried about the weather, as it can be very different between Fox Glacier and Franz Josef.
The most popular height is 16,500ft above ground level, 4,000ft above Aoraki / Mt Cook with views of the East & West Coasts, including Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki . From 16,500ft you will have 70 seconds of freefall at 200 kph (120 mph). Oxygen is provided on all 16,500ft skydives.
If you are not quite up for the higher altitude, the 13,000ft skydive is an option, you will exit the aircraft level with the top of Aoraki/Mt. Cook with spectacular views of the glaciers, rainforests and the West Coast, and have 50 seconds of freefall.
We accept NZ$, EFTPOS, Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, UnionPay, and NZ$ travelers cheques.
Fox Glacier is 25 minutes drive south of Franz Josef Glacier and 4 hours north of Queenstown. Our airstrip is only a 5 minute walk from the Fox Glacier village. If you don’t have your own transport, let us know when you make your booking as we can arrange complimentary pick up and drop off from Franz Josef township.
Wear reasonably warm clothing and sand shoes or sturdy shoes. We will provide jumpsuits, gloves, goggles (glasses or contact lenses are not a problem) and helmets.
Yes. The head of the Fox Glacier has some of the biggest and most spectacular snowfields in New Zealand. As the snow and ice move down the valley giant crevasses open up. It is a sight of such grandeur that it must be seen to be believed. Our flight to altitude will take you over the glacier and snowfields, summer and winter. This is why we know we have the most spectacular skydiving experience in New Zealand.
We can accommodate up to 120 kgs depending on physical condition, talk to us if you exceed 100 kg. Please let us know if you have any medical conditions, most will not stop you skydiving, but your safety is our primary concern and we can advise you if you have any concerns. BTW we do not charge any extra for those over 100 kg.
Unfortunately, due to safety regulations, you are not able to take your own camera on the jump, however we do offer very affordable photo and video packages (which come on a complimentary USB drive) to remember this life changing event……leave it up to the professionals!
Skydiving is weather dependant and we are concerned with your safety. Changes to booking date/time or cancellations can be made, with at least 24 hour notice, without any charge. Cancellations made, by you with less than 24 hour notice will incur a 20% fee. If Skydive Fox Glacier cancelled the jump due to weather conditions, you will receive a 100% refund.

Based in the heart of Fox Glacier, our airstrip is only a 5 minute walk from the Fox Glacier village.
My first awesome jump with Instructor Mike! The jump was incredible. I’m 58 and if you think you’re too old, you’re not. My jump instructor was fantastic, everything you would want on your first jump. PS Do the 16,500ft jump, nothing’s like it. I’m 68, and the eldest by far that morning to jump.
From gearing up, safety, jump till landing simply exhilerating!
An experience which all should do!
